Hello November!
✨ News & Inspirations
November arrives with a beautiful mix of sparkle, reflection, and celebration. It’s a huddle-with-hot-chocolate-by-the-fire kind of month—beginning with the joyful crackle of bonfires and the glitter of fireworks on November 5th. It’s the perfect excuse to wrap up in soft knits, cosy scarves, and chunky jewellery while enjoying the glow of autumn evenings with friends and family.
As Remembrance Sunday approaches on November 9th, we take time to honour the courage and dedication of our Armed Forces and Veterans. Bring out your red gems to pay tribute and give thanks for their service and sacrifice.
Later in the month, not only are we redressing our windows for Christmas so look out for our highlights but gem and crystal lovers have something fun to look forward to outside of Chichester. The London Gem and Mineral Show returns over the weekend of November 22nd–23rd, this year hosted at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. Open to both trade and the public (entry £10), it’s a treasure trove of colour and creativity—featuring rare minerals, crystal ornaments, and even furniture made from natural stone. There’s plenty of hands-on activities too, like cracking open your own geodes!
If you’re a fan of The Opal Whisperers on the Discovery Channel, don’t miss your chance to meet Isaac Andreou, who’ll be flying in from Australia to showcase his stunning opals. The event also features inspiring speakers, engaging workshops, and a live demonstration from renowned gem cutter Justin K. Prim, who’ll be demonstrating how to cut rough gemstones into dazzling faceted jewels before your eyes.
As the month draws to a close, our American friends celebrate Thanksgiving on November 27th—a day of gratitude, reflection, and shared feasts whilst showing off their favourite sparkle. Don’t forget to start thinking about getting your jewellery for Christmas and New Year’s parties cleaned and for those thinking of a Christmas and New Year’s Proposal—come and see us to find your perfect ring to pop the question!
Wherever November takes you, it’s the perfect time to shine. Embrace the season’s earthy warmth with jewellery that captures the glow of bonfire nights—golden citrines, radiant topazes, bold chains, sculptural bangles, and statement signet rings. Or mirror the magic of fireworks with vivid gemstone hues that pop against your autumn wardrobe.
Here’s to a brilliant November—filled with light, love, and a little extra sparkle. ✨

🗓️ Important Dates for Your Diary
As the year draws to a close, we have just one final appointment available for jewellery and watch valuations. If you need an insurance valuation for your collection—or a renewal before the end of 2025—please book early.
📅 Tuesday, 2nd December — Final appointment of the year (2026 dates to be confirmed)
Please remember to bring all original packaging, receipts, and certificates for the most accurate valuation.
📈 Important Notice: Price Update
Our last price adjustment was in 2021, but since then, gold, silver, and platinum prices have risen significantly. We’ve done our best to absorb these increases, but due to the continuing rise in precious metal costs, we’ll now be implementing an updated pricing structure in line with current market conditions.
🎁 Plan Ahead: Bespoke Christmas Gifts and Proposals
A bespoke jewellery creation takes around six weeks from design finalisation to completion. If you’d like something made in time for Christmas or New Year, please ensure we have your final designs and deposits by November 8th.
Many of our suppliers and engravers close for the holidays, so don’t leave it too late! Alongside our bespoke commissions, we’ll also have a beautiful selection of new stock pieces arriving in the workshop over the coming months. Keep an eye out—and secure those special gifts before they’re gone!

Meet our Sales Consultants:
Felicity joined us in June this year and is currently studying for her Jewellery Education Training certificate. Let’s find out what she thinks about jewellery:
1. How long have you been in jewellery and how did you get into it? Or why did you decide to work in the jewellery industry? What plans do you have for your jewellery career?
I’ve always admired the artistry of jewellery design and the craftsmanship behind creating stunning pieces. As a creative person who enjoys working with others, this role is a perfect fit. Although I started in May this year, I’ve already learned so much from my colleagues about jewellery manufacturing and gemstones. It’s been incredibly fascinating, and I’m still discovering something new every day! As a sales consultant at Timothy Roe, I love helping customers, being creative, and expanding my knowledge, all while contributing to the success of an independent bespoke jewellers. It’s an amazing opportunity.
2. What is your favourite part of your job?
Bespoke consultations are my favourite part of the job. I love working with customers to design pieces that are completely unique to them. The process of discussing design ideas and showcasing gemstones from our in-house collections is always exciting. Being a part of creating something so personal for someone is incredibly rewarding. And of course, working with such a wonderful, supportive team makes my role even more special.
3. What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone shopping for jewellery for the first time?
My advice to anyone shopping for jewellery for the first time would be to focus on what feels personal and meaningful to you. Jewellery is such a special purchase, and it should reflect your style, personality, or the occasion. Take as much time as you need to explore and ask questions about different metals, stones, and design features. It’s also important to think about how you plan to wear the piece, whether it’s for everyday or for special occasions. If it’s an everyday piece, consider whether it suits your lifestyle, including your line of work and hobbies. For more occasional pieces, you might opt for softer gemstones and more ornate designs. Ultimately, trust your instinct and choose something that makes you feel confident and excited every time you wear it.
4. What is your favourite metal and favourite gemstone and why?
My favourite metal is platinum. It’s not only highly durable, but its colour also best complements my fair skin tone. As for gemstones, I would have to say aquamarine. I love its shimmering blue colour. In summer, it reminds me of the flashes of light when the sun hits the ocean, and in winter, its cool tones are perfect for a crisp, snowy day!
5. Name a piece of jewellery someone should absolutely own?
A pearl necklace paired with matching earrings is a must-have in any jewellery collection. I love how pearls are so versatile, they can elevate a casual or office outfit and add elegance to evening wear or special occasions. Considered as one of the first gemstones discovered, pearls have been a staple piece for centuries, hence their timeless appeal.
