Shared Claw

This is an excellent ladies' wedding ring band. The claws, or ‘prongs’, hold the stones and this means you can have quite large stones. With a choice of cut diamonds and other precious or semi-precious stones, this type of ring is also very easy to customise. As a wedding band, it is also quite unusual - as wedding bands do not tend to feature large stones very often.

Single Wishbone Mini Claw

Another excellent option for ladies' wedding rings is the single wishbone design. The twisted wishbone shape is ideal for setting a series of small stones. Wishbone shapes make for beautiful diamond rings, with the curvature of the wedding ring shape letting the stones glisten in the light. Wishbone rings can really sparkle and will look beautiful in rose gold.

Double Wishbone Mini Claw

This is the boosted version of the single wishbone, which allows you to include a great many more stones in two layers. This is another more luxurious option that is ideal for a ladies' wedding ring, the double wishbone shape makes use of the mini claw setting to cleverly pack in stones across two lines, still with the distinctive twist-shaped design.

Ribbon Shaped with Channel Set Stones

The ribbon-shaped wedding ring is quite feminine so it is a good option for ladies' wedding rings. The channel setting helps to securely fix the stones in place and will be the perfect way to showcase your diamonds. These make excellent platinum rings and the stones create a charming, fantastical effect thanks to the swirled wedding ring shape.

Ribbon-Shaped Crossover with Light Stones

Good as a men's wedding band, particularly with gold, platinum or palladium, the crossover ribbon with light stones is quite a subtle but still luxurious type of wedding ring. The claws will very snugly secure whatever stone you choose to the band, but this is a wedding ring so diamonds are a traditional choice.

Ribbon-Shaped Crossover with Medium Stones

This is the same crossover shape but it is a more opulent variety, as it includes larger stone settings. As a result, it may lend itself better to a ladies' wedding ring, but it would work as a men's wedding ring too. Medium stones will give you a slightly more twisted shape that can create a strong visual impression, so it is a fairly bold design.

V-Shaped with Tapered Channel Setting

A tapered channel setting lets you use multiple sizes of stones, so you can easily get a bigger stone in the middle and smaller ones on either side. The V-shaped design also means that all of the stones are on either side, so even though there are big stones it is quite subtle to look at. If you want shapes and styles that do not make a huge visual impact this is an excellent option.

V-Shaped with Tapered Channel Setting

For a non-tapered version of the V-shaped ring you can use the regular channel setting. As the stones in the setting will be of the same size, they can easily create a bit of a chunkier feeling, so it might be a good option for men's hands. The V-shaped centre of the ring will also be ideal for men as it creates the illusion of a solid wedding band, while slightly obscuring the stones.

V-Shaped with French Pavé Setting

Pavé rings are reminiscent of cobblestone streets and are an excellent way to include lots of uniform stones in one place. Using a pavé setting with a V-shaped ring design gives you a much more angular stone style and a more flowing metal shape, so you can get an interesting art deco-style wedding ring. This type of wedding ring looks excellent in either white or yellow gold.

Wave Shaped with Light or Medium Channel Set Stones

The wave shape provides a subtle contour, which is not quite as sharp as a V-shaped design. You can add any stones of your choosing with a channel setting, but again wedding rings will usually include diamonds. The shape of the stones will keep your wave-shaped ring a bit more blocky, which is a nice contrast to the more liquid appearance of the metal.

Another setting that goes well with the wave shape is a pavé setting, which holds the stones in a bit more of a prominent style. As a result, if you are looking for a ring shape that showcases your stones a bit more extravagantly, pavé settings combined with a wave shape are an excellent option. This shape would make for a fantastic ladies' wedding ring.

Luna Shape with Light or Medium Channel Set Stones

The luna shape is a little bit more unusual as it has a similar appearance to the wave shape but a much thicker look. The thickness of the metal makes it ideal for yellow gold, which will be a bit more cost-effective than using metals such as platinum. With medium or light channel settings you can easily expand the luxuriousness of the ring. The shape is ideal for both men and women.

Double Ribbon Crossover

For the ultimate in both precious metals and stone settings, with an incredible-looking shape, the double ribbon crossover is one of the best wedding ring shapes you can create. If you want a ring that is luxurious but subtle this is also a good option, as the centre of the ring shape is just plain metal and the full extent of the diamonds is partially obscured on either side.
